well true

[A comparison to her father! Well, there's a compliment. She'll never be able to fool him from now on, he know she cares for him. The prince is a good man. Someone worthy of being compared to. Thor thinks that if he's half the man Prince Charming is and half the father his own father Odin was, then he may do alright by this little girl in his arms.

He'll even drag Emma along for the ride, even when she digs her heels in and tries to reject her own happiness.]

You're great with Henry. [He's seen her with her son many times over the last several months. It was one of the first things he was treated to upon his arrival. The love there is obvious. It comes easier to her than she thinks.]

She is just smaller and nameless.

[ There's barely any fooling him to begin with. The closer they get, the more confident he seems in a relationship she's barely able to wrap her head around. Emma does care for him in ways she hasn't put words to - ways she doesn't even like to think of. Falling in love with a handsome thief when she was a teenager was a hell of a lot different than everything she's had with Thor. He's brave, strong; a hero, as everyone in Storybrooke is so quick to mention. She might be the savior here, but sometimes it's hard to feel like she's on equal footing with him.

And if that's just one more thing Emma thinks herself undeserving of, it's no fault of his. She's thought that about everyone from the parents who've tried to support her through this to the aforementioned small, nameless daughter.]

She won't be nameless forever. [ But compromising on a name that's respectable in both realms is a little harder than expected. Maybe its the universe's way of reminding her just what an odd match they are.] We just need to settle on something we both like. [Something that fits a little girl who is pretty damn cute.]

[Ingeborg is a beautiful and proud name in Asgard. But he is willing to admit it would go unappreciated on Midgard. Perhaps in this Enchanted Forest her parents hail from, but none of them are going back there any time soon and he's gotten the very firm impression that the people of this town are trying their hardest to move on from there, and to make their home here for good.

He understands. He misses Asgard at times but if going back there meant he had to give up his little family here, to forgo Emma and their daughter, he wouldn't be able to make the trade.]

A task not fit for the middle of the night, I think. Or she'll end up being named Emma Jr.
sheriffing: (🌟 158)

[personal profile] sheriffing 2017-02-25 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
You know me well enough to know that I'd never let you call her Emma Jr. [That's almost as bad as Ingeborg, or Thor's first idea of naming a kid after her mother; Svanhild. There's no amount of good intentions that could save their daughter from being teased out of kindergarten with the name options Asgard offers.]

No Emma Jr., no Thora, nothing that makes her sound like something that gets shopped around by a pharmaceutical rep.

[This shouldn't be as difficult as it is. And if Emma takes it personally (as she has everything for the past three months), it feels like she's failing her daughter a little earlier than expected.] Maybe we should just call her Baby, it worked in Dirty Dancing. [Unfortunately, she can't remember whether she made Thor sit through that one or not.]
worthyofmjolnir: (oh no he is adopted)

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-02-26 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[His face should say everything-- Thor has no idea what this Baby or the Dirty Dancing is about. He can make a few guesses but as with many things on Midgard, he tends to overshoot it completely.]

Perhaps she is too young to be dancing in a dirty fashion.

[Try ever. There are women like that on his home planet, and no daughter of his will be anything but a strong, fierce warrior.]

[personal profile] sheriffing 2017-02-26 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, okay. Even in the middle of the night, there's no way Emma's not laughing at that.]

You brought this on yourself, Thor. If dinner and a movie hadn't ended in you knocking me up, you'd know some of the classics by now.

[Maybe it wasn't entirely dinner and a movie to begin with. More like dinner and a movie as an excuse to find someplace private and rip each other's clothes off - and Emma might be willing to take some of the blame on that. Not that she'll ever tell him.

The tiny bundle in his arms is already worth the nine months of misery.]

So, Baby's a no?

[Baby is a no.]
worthyofmjolnir: (i watch for plot)

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-02-28 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's certainly lacking in a certain... something.

[Like being an actual name. What happens when their daughter is grown and no longer a baby, Emma. That will just be confusing and mean to this wonderful angel. Anyone who met her would be expecting a child and they would get a full grown woman instead. Imagine the pandemonium!]

It takes two to make a daughter, Emma.

[personal profile] sheriffing 2017-03-03 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Try telling that to my father. I'm pretty sure David thinks you glanced my way with your Asgardian good looks, and nine months later our kid was born.

[ It's some kind of weird man crush that Emma hasn't given a lot of thought to. Honestly, it's kind of nice having someone in her life who gets along with her parents. She can't imagine someone not liking Thor, aside from the usual (terrible) suspects, and Regina. No real surprise there. Anything that keeps Henry at the loft more often than the Mansion is a problem for her.

Which probably includes the little one who's hopefully going to snooze for a few hours.]

You're just that magical around here.
worthyofmjolnir: (oh no he is adopted)

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-03-06 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
[That's ridiculous, Emma and you know it. There's no way a man with two children of his own thinks that's actually how she got pregnant. Asgardians are not so different from humans. In fact, David often reminds him of a dear friend of his.]

I don't have magic.

[The Bifrost bridge makes perfect sense. Honest. So does owning a hammer that no one but him can lift.]

At least not like your Regina or Mr. Gold do. It's fascinating. I think Heimdall would love to speak to them someday.
sheriffing: (🌟 52)

[personal profile] sheriffing 2017-03-07 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I think that would be a short conversation.

[Considering Regina's lack of patience for anyone at all and Gold's ulterior motives, it'd be over before it started. She can see the interest, but it wouldn't get them very far.]

And you have super powers, Thor.

[He can fly, he runs around with a hammer, he came from outer space - technically that probably makes him an alien, but she likes her version of it better. Sounds more friendly.]

... Is Nameless over there going to have those, too? I'm not judging, at least she won't be a savior.

[Probably.]
worthyofmjolnir: (basically a loreal commercial)

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-03-08 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Technically the hammer does the flying.... whatever, it's not important. As is debating something that boils down to magic in her world and science in his. The only magic he'll admit to on Asgard is Loki's and it's not as if his brother was actually from there.

Thor looks down and studies their little Nameless for a moment. She's sleeping soundly, appears to need for nothing and so he begins to make moves to place her in her cradle again. Slowly, gently, and when that's done and she doesn't wake, he turns to her mother.

And shrugs.]

I do not know. It's been hundreds of years since Asgardians and humans intermarried last. I imagine she would have to be raised on Asgard to embrace that side of her completely.
sheriffing: (🌟 20)

[personal profile] sheriffing 2017-03-12 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ If they have a sleeping baby again, maybe it's time to go back to bed. Emma pushes herself to her feet with a sigh, hugging her arms against her chest for warmth she'd rather borrow from Thor - until one word hits her harder than the rest of his answer, and she stands stiffer and straighter at the mere mention of it.]

Intermarried? We didn't intermarry, we -

[Inter-mated? Interfu - at least she has enough sense left in the middle of the night not to use that particular term, she's not entirely sure he'd like the sound of it.

His point is still there, that this is unusual, and their daughter's probably not going to have some unconventional soulbonding to a ridiculous weapon - but word choice, Thor.

Word choice.]

We had a kid. A very new, very small kid.

[Because that's less serious than a wedding, right?]
worthyofmjolnir: (basically a loreal commercial)

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-03-14 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Really, Emma?]

That we did.

[He knows of her allergy to commitment and it's not as if Thor himself is in any rush to get married simply because they have a child together. He can be a modern man, too. Or more like, it's a big fucking deal when the heir to Asgard marries and he knows for a fact that neither he nor Emma are ready for that. He loves her, he loves their daughter, he's fond of her family but he loves it all here.

He can also say marriage without growing hives.]

I was speaking of what happened the last time Asgardians came to Midgard.

[Maybe someday they'll get married. But it won't be tonight. So he offers her his hand.]

To bed then?

[personal profile] sheriffing 2017-03-14 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ Really, Thor. Intermarried is a terrible word and he should banish it from his vocabulary.]

I know.

[ Sure she does. Because the appropriate reaction to him talking about other Asgardians and humans is to look at him like he's grown another head. She's not opposed to someday, not entirely. That it scares her at all is a good sign (she was terrified of having another baby and look at how that turned out), because it feels possible.

Like maybe someday they'll be together long enough to take that leap together. Not now, though. Not anytime soon.]

You wanna take me to bed? Isn't that what started all of this?

[ No, she is aware of what he means by it. And she'll happily slump forward to slide into his arms, stealing an embrace he didn't ask for. Being with him is the easy part, it's the rest of it. Heir of Asgard, Princess of the Enchanted Forest. She'd rather just be Emma and Thor for as long as possible, as ridiculous as even that sounds.]

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-03-24 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Whatever happens, he won't leave her to sit in jail for his mistakes.]

Impossible woman.

[Thor welcomes her into his arms. It's not a struggle to hold her. She's a lot less breakable than their little daughter, though no less precious.]

It takes two to make a baby, my love. And you were very insistent.

[ No matter how late it is, she still lights up at the way he calls her impossible. Like impossible is some kind of compliment, which it might as well be when he's the one saying it. She might be impossible, but he's still here, her own impossible dreams starting to take shape with his continued presence.

It makes her feel like she's allowed to love this man without expecting her life to fall apart because she let him in it.]

Very insistent? I'm insistent about a lot of things.

[ Insistent in standing on the tips of her toes to make some attempt at a kiss on the cheek. How's that for insistent? After a moment she looks back one more time, stealing a last glance at the little girl who has his eyes and her chin.

When her gaze settles back on Thor, she bites her bottom lip, taking his hand to lead him back to bed.]

I think there are worse things to insist on. When it comes to babies, we made a good one.
worthyofmjolnir: (happy happy happy)

[personal profile] worthyofmjolnir 2017-04-10 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Being impossible is a compliment! He's been surrounded by strong, fierce, independent women his entire life. He has nothing but respect for them. He didn't stand a chance when it came to Emma Swan. But then he didn't really bother fighting it either because have you seen her? She's amazing. Whatever she wants except to name their daughter Baby and let her do any kind of dirty dancing.]

She'll be a fierce warrior someday. Just like her beautiful mother.

[Thor tightens his fingers around her for a moment and then they are at their bed and there's obviously no choice but to wrap his other arm around her body and pull her in for a proper kiss.]
sheriffing: (🌟 2)

Her father is a fierce warrior, too.

[ and she won't speak to how handsome he is because he is unfairly good looking. she's heard about the ego he came to earth with and she doesn't need to make it worse. besides, quiet admiration has been a thing with them ever since she decided to flirt with their Asgardian visitor. she sees no reason to stop just because he decided to stay.

just because, as if that didn't completely change her entire life.

if there's one thing they have in common, it's that the two of them approach even the most routine moments with their whole heart. she kisses him with the dedication of someone who realizes she won't get another chance to for at least another five hours (assuming the baby cooperates). it's goodnight, the usual unspoken promise of love, and maybe a little bit of a demand to be held all at once.

she's strong, fierce, and independent, but having someone to share her life with is the impossible thing she never would have seen coming. ]

Goodnight, Thor.
